WHY A PTO

PTO stands for "Parent Teacher Organization", which is an independent group which supports a specific school or school district. The Terraset Elementary PTO is a non-stock Virginia corporation with IRS non-profit status. The PTO was formed by Terraset parents and is run specifically for the benefit of our school and students. As a PTO, we determine our goals and keep all resources here at Terraset.

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Terraset Elementary School PTO was organized to promote the education of our students and help foster a positive environment for all children. Fundraisers benefit programs at the school such as student assemblies, the Outdoor Learning Center, and much more.

WHO RUNS THE PTO?

The PTO is managed by an Executive Committee, comprised of five officers and the chairs of standing committtees. Officers are elected annually with terms beginning the day after the end of the school year. PTO members are needed to help operate programs, organize events and support in-school PTO activities.
